I already sent you a little gift basket full of goodies appropriate for a one year old! :) I can't wait to see your new trendy clothes that I picked out on you! I am excited to celebrate you and remember how thankful we are for you on this very special day!
Love you so much!

Baby Button

I threw a baby shower this weekend for Lauren and Button Burkhart. Lauren and Jerad are having a girl, but they are not telling anyone the name so 'Button" is what we are calling it. It was a shower for all the BA mom's and we had a good time! It was a beautiful weekend so we probably lost a few guests to the amazing sunshine weather!
Here is a picture of the petifores that I was obsessed with! I got them at a bakery called sweet n sassy here in Nashville and they are AMAZING!! And they should be since they were not cheap! :) One of my Young Life girls calls them "booty cakes."

Smashville

Our company had a little work social at the Predators game last night! We got the privilege of sitting in the all-inclusive zone. It was a great time with co-workers and a really exciting game! I am surprised to say that I am starting to really get into Hockey! Especially on the heals of the Olympics, I am starting to understand it and enjoy it much more!

Highlights of the game: Getting on the jumbrotron, seeing Scott Hamilton (olympic figure skater), and a Predators win!

Home sweet home!

I spent last weekend in Knoxville and had a wonderful time! The last time I was home, I was SO SICK with the horrible, terrible, awful stomach flu. I spent the whole time in bed! This weekend, I got to go out with my friends, and visit with my family! I got to see Amy, Kory, and Kaitlin which is always so fun and I got to celebrate my friend Katie's birthday with lots of friends! I had the best time!
Look how happy Kaitlin was to see me?! She is such a cutie.... I am totally obsessed! She is just like her Aunt Rachel.... very dramatic and must be around people all the time!

Tasty Travels- Austin edition

Valentines Weekend + Austin = Love

I had an amazing trip to Austin this weekend. I don't know if I can explain how much fun I had, but will try. As always, it is easier with pictures. Here are the highlights.
  • Running into Beth Moore at the Nashville airport. Beth was here in Nashville doing a book signing of her new book "So Long Insecurity." I was bummed I couldn't go because I had to work on Thursday. But Thursday night while waiting for my flight to Austin, I ran into Beth. Literally, ran into her. While I was apologizing under the departing flight t.v.'s, all I could think was that I wanted to ask her for a picture. I was so mad that I didn't ask her for one. So I went to the airport bookstore to try to find the book and get her to sign it. They didn't have it, but still my favorite celebrity sighting ever!
  • Fun and encouraging memories with my friends! I love these girls so much! It was so fun being with them. Someone asked me what my favorite part of the weekend was.... and honestly it was just being around these two. It was such a sweet weekend and I left feeling so fulfilled!
  • The FOOD! Oh.my.gosh! I can not tell you how much I LOVED the food in Austin. I felt like I was on an episode of Rachel Ray's tasty travels. My meal at Trudy's was the best meal I have ever had. Here is a picture of me with my stuffed avocado and Mexican martini. YUM-O.
  • And here is a picture of me at the best brunch I have ever had! Mom, you would LOVE this place! Pictured here is the hash. It is brisket, potatoes, eggs, and some other good stuff. Plus they had $1 mimosa's and bellini's. YUM-O!
  • Texas Two-Step. We went two-stepping Friday night in downtown Austin. It was really fun to see how great these Austin guys are at two-stepping. (The key is getting a good partner.)
  • Valentines Day..... the movie! We went to see the movie Valentines Day at the Alamo. It is a movie theater where you are served food. Not like popcorn and candy, but full meals and anything you could imagine! I ordered hot chocolate chip cookies and a mocha latte since we went for a matinee movie. I really wish we had one of these in Nashville.

I love Austin. I love my friends that live in Austin. I guess it was appropriate that I was there for Valentines day weekend, because I LOVED it! Can't wait to go back soon!!

The Drowsy Chaperone

Tonight I went to see The Drowsy Chaperone at TPAC. I did not know much about this musical before I went to see it, but I was blown away with the humor in this musical! It is a spoof of old musicals, and was just so cute and funny! I love musicals and love TPAC has so many great shows that come to Nashville.

I am glad I got to see it before I leave on my mini-vacation tomorrow! I am headed to see two of my best friends in Austin, Texas! I can not wait to see them, and to get to warmer weather! So excited for this weekend! I will have LOTS to post when I get home!

Blog?

So I think this is the longest I have gone without blogging. Why you ask?

1- I am B-U-S-Y. Seriously, I can not imagine being any busier than I am right now. Most days, I am gone for at LEAST 12-13 hours. I go from breakfast with young life girls, to work, to West End Middle school, to clients at MTSU, to supervision, to class, to young life, and then home to do homework. Yes that is my Monday.
2- I don't have anything exciting to blog about. This makes me sad, but it is very true. Refer to number 1 if you don't think that is true.
3- I am still learning how to balance my time this semester. I sometimes forget/don't have time to eat dinner. Refer back to number 1.

The good news is.... I have LOTS of exciting things to blog about soon! I am very excited to share stories and pictures very soon!
