Common Cold

I've been wondering a lot this week.....

If the "common cold" is so common, then why isn't there a prescription or medicine to make you feel better? I am going on day 10 of this cold and I am "sick" of it. I think almost my whole paycheck has gone to walgreens this week trying to find some medicine to help this cold. I haven't really had an appetite this week, but the only things I have been wanting are soup and ice cream. ha Awesome diet.

Cheekwood

Mom and Dad made a stop in Nashville before going to Arkansas to see Amy and Kory. We went to see 9 to 5 the musical at TPAC which was so cute! But since we couldn't get tickets to the matinee show, we had all day to hang out. We went to brunch at our favorite place Bricktops and then went to see Chihuly at Cheekwood. Oh.my.gosh. It was fantastic.

Dale Chihuly is a famous glass sculptor who's work is at Cheekwood until the end of this month.

I have been wanting to go see this exhibit since it got here in May.

The first time I saw his work was at the Bellagio hotel in Vegas. Loved it then, and love it even more now. So cool.
This is my favorite... it is called the sun. Can you spot Mom and I this picture haha?
Takes my breath away. Love it.

Celebrating Adrienne

Trey and Adrienne are getting married in one month, so we have been having a lot of fun celebrating Adrienne the past few weeks!

We had Adrienne's bachelorette party weekend here in Nashville a few weeks ago
Me with the bachelorette!
We had the most amazing limo to ride around in all night! SOO fun!
Our whole fabulous group! These are so hard to see.... but we are in front of the Parthenon and downtown Nashville. It was so great to hang out with all of Adrienne's high school and college friends. I wished they all lived here because I think we would all be great friends.

This past weekend, we had a wedding shower for Adrienne. I am SO sad I didn't get more pictures.... I must have been too busy hosting. But it was really so much fun!
Me and my roommate/bride-to-be!
Seriously, how good do these look? My favorite part of the shower :)
I am getting so excited for Trey and Adrienne's wedding! ONE MONTH! Yay!

So I haven't blogged in a while... but I am still here! The start of school has been crazy to say the least. In my spare time, I try to get some sleep. Even right now, I should be doing school work, but decided to write on my blog instead. :) I have LOTS to update like UT football games, funny stories from school, bachelorette parties, and much more. Get excited.... lots of fun posts coming your way soon.

As I write this, I realize how much I miss blog world. It is totally therapeutic for me!

Senior Survivor

Brentwood Academy starts every year with an event for the seniors called Senior Survivor. The senior parents are in charge of the event, and for the past four years BA young life leaders have led the games. It is an amazing day that really bonds the senior class.

It was such a great day and a fabulous event!! But it was also in the middle of the heat wave so it was about 110 degrees. You can tell by these pictures that we are soo gross.

We had lots of fun events for the seniors like cricket spitting, dizzy bat race, egg toss, etc.

This year was really special for me because I have been walking with these girls since their freshmen year. I can't believe they are seniors!! Crazy!

Surprise!

I had the sweetest surprise on Friday that MUST be blogged about. I was sitting at work on Friday, very sleepy from our company picnic the night before, and in walks my Brother-in-law. I was surprised to say the least since my brother lives 9 hours away in Northwest Arkansas! Kory had been traveling for work and was flying out of Nashville early Friday morning and stopped by to say hello to his favorite sister-in-law (sorry if Jennifer is reading this!). He also won over extra points by bringing me starbucks.

I was seriously SO shocked and just so happy I cried a little. I have the best brother-in-law ever!

First Day of School

Today was my first day of my internship at Moore Elementary. I will be spending the fall semester at Moore, and then I will be placed at a high school for my final semester in the Spring (HOORAY). I was talking to my sister Amy today, and she inspired me to take first day of school pictures like we used to growing up. After seeing Kaitlin's first day of school pics, I got really into it.

Yes, I am wearing a backpack. No, I did not actually use this backpack at my internship today. It just made the picture better.

Here I am with my new computer :)

I really love my new computer and backpack.

Here is to a great start to a wonderful internship!
