Brought to you by the letter B...

What a fun and unexpected visit with Amy and Kory and Kaitlin!! I was so thrilled they wanted to stop by and see me and their LONG drive back home. We had the best time at one of my favorite breakfast places, Bread and Co. It was a quick visit, but we laughed and had so much fun!

I really wanted to get a cute picture of Kaitlin and me, but I don't think that exists. But these are pretty funny!

We also got the privilege of seeing one of my favorite artists at Bread and Co. Brandon Heath was sitting right beside us. Yay celebrity sighting! Yay Amy and Kory and Kaitlin being in Nashville! Yay favorite breakfast!

American Honey

It's only Tuesday and I have already had two very bloggable (is bloggable a word?) things happen this week!

First, Mom and Dad came to Nashville to visit me and Paul McCartney. They had a great time at the concert, and I had a great time visiting with them. I also love it when they come in town and we can try new fun places to eat in Nashville and hang out. It was such a quick trip for them, I wish they could have stayed longer. But we always have fun when they come to visit. Love them so much.

I also had a fun celebrity sighting at church on Sunday! I sat by Dave from Lady Antebellum! I WAS SO EXCITED!! But as most of my other celebrity sightings here in Nashville, I silently freak out and TRY to act cool. Especially in church. I was so excited during the "greet your neighbor" time of church. I LOVE country music and my summer soundtrack has been Lady Antebellum. They are my favorite country group. If you don't know who they are, go get their cd now! I have included a picture below of the group Lady Antebellum. Dave is the one on the left. And I would also like to point out that I think Charles (on the right) looks just like Adrienne's fiance Trey.

Vocal Adrenaline

Today was another very relaxing day. I am trying to enjoy these days as much as I can because I know I don't have a lot of these days left. I went to the grocery store at 10:00 this morning. I don't think I have ever been to the grocery store at 10am on a Tuesday. But it was worth it for a (semi) celebrity sighting!

When I walked into the bakery section, I saw lots of people and 4 tv cameras. All the other people in the store (moms) in the store were not phased by the people and cameras, but I was star struck. I HAD to know what was going on. So I stalked around the area and still was clueless. I asked the deli lady who came out from behind the counter and she explained that all the local news stations were having a cake decorating contest. It was a fund-raiser for Second Harvest Food Bank. The deli lady and I started talking and she told me that one of our own Nashville news reporter was also the host for HGTV show Designed to Sell. I told her I was a big fan of HGTV and she decided that I needed to meet the host. I was SUPER embarrassed, but she took hold of my arm and pushed through all the people and all the cameras to meet Shane Tallant. He was SO NICE and thanked me for watching. My response was "I am so embarrassed." Seriously Rachel? Not "nice to meet you" or "I love your show." It just happened so fast.
Today was also a very big day because it was the season finale of GLEE! Glee is my FAVORITE show and I am so sad it is over for the summer. Tonight we watched Vocal Adrenaline and New Directions go head to head in the Regional competition. It is a great show. I highly recommend you watch it.

Smashville

Our company had a little work social at the Predators game last night! We got the privilege of sitting in the all-inclusive zone. It was a great time with co-workers and a really exciting game! I am surprised to say that I am starting to really get into Hockey! Especially on the heals of the Olympics, I am starting to understand it and enjoy it much more!

Highlights of the game: Getting on the jumbrotron, seeing Scott Hamilton (olympic figure skater), and a Predators win!

Tasty Travels- Austin edition

Valentines Weekend + Austin = Love

I had an amazing trip to Austin this weekend. I don't know if I can explain how much fun I had, but will try. As always, it is easier with pictures. Here are the highlights.
  • Running into Beth Moore at the Nashville airport. Beth was here in Nashville doing a book signing of her new book "So Long Insecurity." I was bummed I couldn't go because I had to work on Thursday. But Thursday night while waiting for my flight to Austin, I ran into Beth. Literally, ran into her. While I was apologizing under the departing flight t.v.'s, all I could think was that I wanted to ask her for a picture. I was so mad that I didn't ask her for one. So I went to the airport bookstore to try to find the book and get her to sign it. They didn't have it, but still my favorite celebrity sighting ever!
  • Fun and encouraging memories with my friends! I love these girls so much! It was so fun being with them. Someone asked me what my favorite part of the weekend was.... and honestly it was just being around these two. It was such a sweet weekend and I left feeling so fulfilled!
  • The FOOD! Oh.my.gosh! I can not tell you how much I LOVED the food in Austin. I felt like I was on an episode of Rachel Ray's tasty travels. My meal at Trudy's was the best meal I have ever had. Here is a picture of me with my stuffed avocado and Mexican martini. YUM-O.
  • And here is a picture of me at the best brunch I have ever had! Mom, you would LOVE this place! Pictured here is the hash. It is brisket, potatoes, eggs, and some other good stuff. Plus they had $1 mimosa's and bellini's. YUM-O!
  • Texas Two-Step. We went two-stepping Friday night in downtown Austin. It was really fun to see how great these Austin guys are at two-stepping. (The key is getting a good partner.)
  • Valentines Day..... the movie! We went to see the movie Valentines Day at the Alamo. It is a movie theater where you are served food. Not like popcorn and candy, but full meals and anything you could imagine! I ordered hot chocolate chip cookies and a mocha latte since we went for a matinee movie. I really wish we had one of these in Nashville.

I love Austin. I love my friends that live in Austin. I guess it was appropriate that I was there for Valentines day weekend, because I LOVED it! Can't wait to go back soon!!

Team Taylor

This has been one of the most fun weekends I have had in a long time! This weekend was very busy and very full of fun activities! Earlier this week, I was a little disappointed about not being able to go to Knoxville for the UCLA game. I had class on Saturday from 8-3 and most of my friends were all going to the UT game. But, this weekend turned out to be fantastic!

Friday night Lauren Sutterfield came in town on her way to Knoxville for the game. I was SO glad to see her and hang out for the night. We got sushi at Virago and then went to Red door.

Saturday after class, I watched the UT game (which was sad) while I got ready for the Taylor Swift concert! Adrienne and I went to concert and had the best time! I don't know how to explain how much fun it was! Glorianna and Kellie Pickler were the two openers for Taylor and then Taylor played for over 2 hours! She had about 6 costume changes, walked through the audience, and had special guests Faith Hill and Tim Mcgraw sing with her! It was so much fun!!

We got to see lots of our sweet Young Life girls during the show! This picture is half of our Reems Creek cabin from Windy Gap! Such a fun reunion!!

Katie came to sit with us for the last few songs! So much fun!
This is a picture of me, Adrienne, and Taylor! If you look closely at the tiny blue figure at the top right of the page, thats our friend Taylor! Here is a picture of Taylor and Faith. I remember going to a Faith Hill concert back in 1999 when I was in high school! This was very exciting!!

During the course of the night we heard that Taylor and Kellie were having their after party at a club called Lime. Since the average age of concert goers was probably 13, we thought we had a good chance of seeing them at Lime! Although this was not one of our best decisions, it was one of best parts of the night. We did not end up seeing either of them (because Taylor got on a plane to go to the VMA's) we still had a blast trying to be like the paparazzi. This is a picture of us during our "steak out."
Sunday was also a sweet time that consisted of church, gossip girl, ice cream, and the VMA's. I didn't get any pictures of those events, but it was still a fun day!

The weekend ended up being so much fun! I am so thankful for fun friends and lots of fun memories!

Little Big Town

Nashville is a big city, but it has a small town feel. I love that about Nashville. I love that you can go to the grocery store and see people you know. I love that we have famous neighbors, but it doesn't seem to be a big deal. Well, unless your name is Rachel! I LOVE my celebrity sightings and I try really hard not to freak out. Tonight I was having dinner with sweet Jessie, one of my YL girls. We ate dinner at Peter's sushi which is one of the best places in Middle Tennessee to get sushi. Not only is it delicious and very reasonably priced, it is also the favorite of the stars here in Nashville.

While we were eating, we see some people walk in who have "the look." If you live in Nashville, then you know exactly what I am talking about. We both knew they were famous, but could not put a name with the face. After getting confirmation from Peter, we knew they were the band Little Big Town! On our way out the door, Jessie talked to the band and met their families and other band members as well! She is way cooler than I am because I did not talk to any of them but it was still fun and always exciting!
