Things I learned in snowapoloza 2010

News flash: It snowed in Nashville on Friday. It was more snow than I have seen in a long time. I have been snowed in ever since. I learned a few things during the snowapoloza 2010.

1. A good pair of boots is vital. This morning, we decided to try to make the trip to church so I thought hard about what shoes to wear. I thought heals are too slippery, so I opted for my flats. I took one step outside of my house and fell down the icy stairs and flat on my rear-end. This fight with the ice continued the entire time till I got back home.

2. This big scraper is my new best friend. We got about 4 inches of snow, then about an inch of ice on top of the snow. That is a very difficult thing to get off the car. This big scraper helped out so much! And yes, I took a picture of me and the scraper. Lame I know.

3. Sometimes you have to get out and push the car when it gets stuck in the snow. I've seen it done when people get stuck in the mud, but never thought about it in the snow. Usually a boys job, not today. We had to push Adrienne's car, three times during our trip to church. I wish I had gotten a picture of this, but I was too busy freaking out.

4. Snowapoloza brings out the best in strangers. The last time we got the car stuck, a random neighbor came over to help us. He was so nice to help three girls who were in trouble. I've heard of other stories like this, but it was so nice to see it first hand.

5. Now I know why people raid the grocery store. Snow days make me hungry. I guess it was boredom. But I ate everything in my house this weekend.

6. Sleds and shovels will be on the list the next time I go to the hardware store. Those would have been good to have this weekend.

So I learned a lot during Snowaploza 2010. I am sure I will have more to add after I try to actually drive tomorrow!

NEON

We had a fun Young Life Club this week... Neon Club!

It was a really fun night! We had a rave, glowsticks, and black lights. So fun!

We also did a skit from The Jersey Shore. Notice the the bumpit, hair gel and fake tan.

Loved this night so much I had to post some fun pictures!

BIG surprise!

I received this text message from my roommate Adrienne on Friday afternoon: "BIG surprise when you get home...."

While I was driving home after work, I was thinking about all the surprises that could be waiting for me. I thought of puppies, or friends, or magazines. I never thought I would see this when I got home...
So surprised and so excited to find Trey and Adrienne were ENGAGED!!! I am so so excited for them!!
We all went out to one of the best places in Nashville to celebrate... Whiskey Kitchen!

Congratulations Treydrienne!!! I am so so excited for yall! Love you so much!
PS - Adrienne, I think this is one of our best pictures yet! So cute!

Their birthday is a palindrome!

I have become such a baby person! I went to Memphis this weekend to visit Lindsey and the babies and I could not get enough of Pete and Hobson! They are so handsome and Lindsey is doing great. It was so much fun to talk with Lindsey and help with whatever she needed. I just loved being there!

I was too busy holding the babies that I didn't get many pictures, but I'm sure I will get more next time!
It was a quick, but fantastic trip to Memphis that I know I will never forget!

Milestone

Today was a huge day. Today my best friend had a baby! Not just one baby, but two babies! I can't believe I am this old that my friends are having babies. I just can't wait to meet them and hug Lindsey!

Happy Birthday to Peter John and Hobson John!

2009 Year in Review

2009 was a great year and there are SO MANY things I could write about. But I have narrowed the year down to my top 5!

1. Kaitlin Grace was born! Love her so so much.

2. Moldova. Going to Moldova was one of the best experiences of my decade, not just my year. It was such a learning experience, and so much fun.

3. Summer family vacation to Florida. Although it was not what I had expected, it was a sweet time with my family. I am so thankful for them everyday.

4. Young Life club and Windy Gap were some of the highlights of my year.

5. Music City Concerts. Nashville is truly the home to music city and I have loved that this year. Taylor Swift, Keith Urban and friends, Carrie Underwood, Brad Paisely, Brandon Heath, and Britney Spears were just a few of the amazing concerts that I will always remember from 2009.

Christmas and New Years!

I have fallen behind on my blog a little bit so I am trying to play catch up today! I had planned in my head to do all of these Christmas blogs while I was at home. But instead, this is how I spent my Christmas vacation.
I had quite the stomach virus the week of Christmas. I am very thankful to have been at home and have such great care from my parents. But very sad I missed out on so much of Christmas. Ugh. At least I didn't gain any holiday weight! :)

I also got to spend a little bit of time at Christmas with this cutie!

New Years turned out to be such a fun night! I have said that it is my least favorite holiday/night of the year, but this one was so fun! I went to Abigail's to watch UT in the Chickfla bowl. That turned out to be a bummer. Then I rang in 2010 at Broadway Brewhouse with the exact same fabulous group I rang in 2009 with! I had the best time!

New Years Eve turned out to be a great night and I am looking forward to 2010!
