Procrastination

I really don't have a lot of exciting things to say, but I am procrastinating from doing more homework so I thought I would make a list of all the things on my mind.
  • Thankful. I am so thankful for my roommate. Tonight we made dinner, watched Glee, and then laughed for about 45 min while we left multiple facebook videos to people. Love it. Love her.
  • Glee and Gossip Girl. My favorite tv shows. Glee is so funny and so musical which is a fun combination. Gossip Girl is just awesome. If you don't watch them, you should.
  • Ninja crickets. My new home has been invaded by crickets called Rhaphidophoridae. They are SCARY looking, but according to wikipedia, are harmless. I call them Ninja crickets because you never know which way they are going to jump! I am not a fan.
  • School. I really love my Group Counseling class this semester. It is encouraging to have a class that I enjoy and get a lot out of. My other class... well I have to write my research thesis proposal. That's all I am going to say about that.
  • Zoes. Zoes is one of my favorite lunch places in Nashville. This weekend while I was out, I ran into two guys who worked there. Not only did they recognize me, they called me by name. I think its a sign that I need to find a new lunch place.
  • UT Football! The next two weekends I will be in Knoxville for the football games. I am SO excited to see all my friends and family! I am excited to go so I will have lots more to blog about!!
I could go on.... but I should get back to my research thesis proposal.

Why we do it

I absolutely love Young Life! I love it with my whole heart, but it is not always easy. It is time consuming and draining, but I still love it. Today is one of those special days where I say, "This is why I am a Young Life leader." Today one of my sweet girls got baptized. Jessie is one of my girls that I took to Windy Gap this summer. I had lots of amazing conversations with Jessie at camp and I remember one where she talked about her desire to get baptized once she got back to Brentwood. The thing is, Jessie's decision to get baptized has nothing to do with me. It is all about Jesus and I get to be there to watch Him do His work. This afternoon I got to share in this special service and watch as she was baptized for the first time. I don't think I have the words to describe this special moment; all I had was lot of tears. I am so blessed by Jessie in my life and so happy I got to be there with her today! Below is the picture of our Reems Creek girls from Windy Gap. I love them so much.

Ode to my rain boots

I have wanted rain boots since I was in college, but I always seemed to talk myself out of them for some reason. Since it has rained for three straight weeks here in Nashville, I finally decided it was time to invest in some! I am so thrilled with my purchase!!! I found a cute and inexpensive pair here in Nashville and have been wearing them ever since! I would also like to point out that is has not rained since I bought them either. Your Welcome.

Mom's birthday weekend

Mom and Dad came to Nashville and we had lots of celebrating to do! We had such a great weekend full of fun events! To start off the weekend, we made a stop at Gigi's cupcakes to celebrate Mom's birthday! Gigi's is amazing and have about a million flavors so it is really hard to choose! We munched on cupcake flavors of wedding cake, birthday cake, Texas chocolate, and red velvet! Yum!

We then had a celebration lunch at Maggiano's restaurant! It was the first time we have not to wait for 2 hours to get in so we were very excited!

After lunch, we made a quick stop by Mom and Dad's hotel to check in. What we thought was going to be a quick stop at the hotel, turned into one of the funnest/most awkward times of the weekend. This weekend Vanderbilt had a home football game against Mississippi State. Apparently, Mom and Dad were staying at the same hotel as the Vanderbilt football team. Picture this.... the Frey's decked out in orange. Dad in a Tennessee polo, Mom in her sweater with VOLS and Smokey, and me in an orange shirt and headband. There is NO question that we are BIG UT fans. We hit the button for an elevator, and the doors open and we see a PACKED elevator full of big Vanderbilt football players. They quickly shut the doors as we wait for the next elevator. The next elevator that comes is also full of Vanderbilt football players and we are getting more nervous as we wait. The next elevator that comes Dad tells us there is room on this one and we get on. The Vanderbilt players say "Oh no" and other "choice words" when they see us, and you can tell they HATE that we are on with them. Mom says something like, "Well yall will probably win today!" Ha! They were not so pleased.

After we watched the UT/FL game we went back to the hotel to get ready for dinner and Wicked! We had dinner at Mom's favorite Nasvhille resturant J. Alexanders and then saw Wicked at TPAC. I have been waiting for this show for over a year!! In my opinion, it was worth the wait and worth the hype! I absolutly loved the show!

Sunday was a funday when we tried a new place for breakfast. We cooked our own pancakes at the Pfunky Grittle. We had a pfun time and met other Vol pfans there as well! I absolutly loved the place!

It is always so fun when Mom and Dad come to visit, but this has been one of my favorite trips they have made! I love when they come visit, but this weekend was extra special for Mom's birthday!

Moving 2.0

If you have read my blog for a while, then you know how much I dislike moving. You can read all the reasons why I hate moving here.

So I have moved again and have another thing I would like to add to my list. Although this was one of the easier moves (no 3 flights of stairs yay!) it was still hard on me and Cammy. Cammy is my car. She is a Toyota Camry. It is a FABULOUS car which I love!! But it is NOT good for moving things. I can get one or two boxes into my car and I'm full! The seats don't move or fold down or anything so it is not flexible. It has taken lots of little trips back and forth to get all my stuff to my new place, but it is so worth it! I have a fabulous roommate, great location, and a little more room! I am so thankful!

Team Taylor

This has been one of the most fun weekends I have had in a long time! This weekend was very busy and very full of fun activities! Earlier this week, I was a little disappointed about not being able to go to Knoxville for the UCLA game. I had class on Saturday from 8-3 and most of my friends were all going to the UT game. But, this weekend turned out to be fantastic!

Friday night Lauren Sutterfield came in town on her way to Knoxville for the game. I was SO glad to see her and hang out for the night. We got sushi at Virago and then went to Red door.

Saturday after class, I watched the UT game (which was sad) while I got ready for the Taylor Swift concert! Adrienne and I went to concert and had the best time! I don't know how to explain how much fun it was! Glorianna and Kellie Pickler were the two openers for Taylor and then Taylor played for over 2 hours! She had about 6 costume changes, walked through the audience, and had special guests Faith Hill and Tim Mcgraw sing with her! It was so much fun!!

We got to see lots of our sweet Young Life girls during the show! This picture is half of our Reems Creek cabin from Windy Gap! Such a fun reunion!!

Katie came to sit with us for the last few songs! So much fun!
This is a picture of me, Adrienne, and Taylor! If you look closely at the tiny blue figure at the top right of the page, thats our friend Taylor! Here is a picture of Taylor and Faith. I remember going to a Faith Hill concert back in 1999 when I was in high school! This was very exciting!!

During the course of the night we heard that Taylor and Kellie were having their after party at a club called Lime. Since the average age of concert goers was probably 13, we thought we had a good chance of seeing them at Lime! Although this was not one of our best decisions, it was one of best parts of the night. We did not end up seeing either of them (because Taylor got on a plane to go to the VMA's) we still had a blast trying to be like the paparazzi. This is a picture of us during our "steak out."
Sunday was also a sweet time that consisted of church, gossip girl, ice cream, and the VMA's. I didn't get any pictures of those events, but it was still a fun day!

The weekend ended up being so much fun! I am so thankful for fun friends and lots of fun memories!

Titan up!

Tonight marks the Titan's first game of the season as well as the start of the NFL season! I LOVE football and ever since I have been living in Nashville, I have become even more obsessed with it! It is my first season to play in a fantasy football league. I am not really sure what I am doing, but it sure is fun! The Titans play the Super Bowl champs, the Steelers tonight. It is going to be a tough game, but I believe! Here is a picture of me making my fantasy picks!

Labor day weekend

There were a few things that made my weekend in Knoxville so great! It is better described by pictures...

First of all, I got to hang out with Kaitlin!
Second, the VOLS had a big win! 63-7! Amazing! Here you can see Kaitlin and I sporting our orange!

Third, I laughed A LOT with my family!

Fourth, I got to see Dad's new mailbox. I think this one is my favorite mailbox that he has made!
I had such a great time in Knoxville this weekend! Got to hang out with my family and got to see some great friends! The Vols won big and Boomsday was amazing! I had such a great weekend!!

Goodbye Wedding Season... Hello Football Season

I can feel a change of the seasons in the air! And no I don't mean Summer changing into Fall. I mean Wedding Season changing into Football Season!!! As the first football game comes upon us this weekend, it is the unofficial end to the crazy wedding season. I was looking over past blog posts and noticed that I did a very bad job of documenting my friends weddings! So I decided to put a few of my favorites up from this summer!
