Row, row, row your boat

I had a fabulous and crazy time this weekend!! I am so thankful for time at home with my fabulous family... and thankful for sleep! I had class all day Saturday and then raced home so I could spend some time with my family. The point of this quick trip was to see my friend Ted. Ted and I met in 2006 when we were both Admissions Counselors for our colleges. We met at a National College Fair in Baltimore for the week and became instant friends. Somehow we have kept in touch over the past few years. He is now the assistant coach for his school, Mercyhurst in Erie, PA. Their team was rowing in a regatta in Oak Ridge this weekend so we had made plans to meet up. Lucky for his team, they dominated the regatta and won in the finals. Unlucky for me, it was freezing and pouring down rain on Sunday when I went to cheer them on. You can't see it in the picture, but I am totally wearing my Mercyhurst Lakers t-shirt. I am such a good fan! Congrats to Ted and his team! And I must give my dad "props" for standing in the freezing cold rain with me to watch this regatta. (Also, Dad loves the word props - proper recognition).
The rest of the weekend was so much fun with Mom and Dad. We ate alot, watched musicals, and I tired to sleep some while still trying to keep up with my school work. I miss it already!

Still no internet

Not having internet at home is lame, but the bright side is I get to people watch at Panera a lot! I am actually sitting at Panera right now and the lady next to me is singing out loud. And I am pretty sure she is making up her own songs (which I love to do... right Amy?). So I wanted to update the little blog because I have missed it! I don't have too many exciting things to write about because school is super busy right now. But I did want to share with all four people who read my blog this cute picture of Adrienne and I from Easter. I am so thankful for Adrienne!

Here we are after lunch on Easter morning

We had a very Easter-like lunch at Chili's! HA!

Ok must get back to the school work, and this fabulous cookie! :)

Life's a climb, but the view is great

Today was such an interesting day. It had amazing ups and downs. Sadly, middle Tennessee is getting pretty used to severe weather. Today there was an outbreak of tornadoes around Middle Tennessee and Murfreesboro was hit hard. There were multiple touchdowns of tornadoes with many people hurt and a few deaths. When I got home from work, I could not believe the devastating pictures. I have never seen anything like this. Houses were totally destroyed and people could not reach their loved ones because of down cell phone towers. I sat and watched the news and just cried for this community. This picture does not even describe it.
God really taught me a lot today. He captured my attention with his power and greatness. This is such a devastating event, but He remided us on this Good Friday of his strength. He is the Lord and He came to save us. I am so thankful.

Tonight was such a fun night and a great get-a-way from the horrible destruction. Adrienne and her sisters and I went to see the new Hannah Montana movie! The movie was amazing and I had the best time with the Packer girls. I have been looking forward to the movie for a long time and it came out today! I want to go back and see it again. A lot of the filming was done in Middle Tennessee so it was fun to see glimpes of people and places that are my current home! It made me really want to be in a movie. Untill then, I will keep practing my "Miley" pose.
While we were at the Green Hills movie we also saw my boyfriend Zac. His movie comes out on Friday. I will be back soon to see it. Here is Zac being cute.

And finally, tomorrow is the big moving day. I do not know how long I will be away from my computer or have internet. So I will blog once again when I get settled and/or have internet.

Easter

I love Easter Sunday and being so excited to celebrate His resurrection and be so thankful. I wish I woke up every morning with that same excitement! So this Easter will be my first Easter ever that I am spending away from my family and away from Knoxville. I am not sure why this is so sad to me, but I am pretty sad. Some of my favorite pictures of Amy and I are from Easter Morning. I loved the hats and gloves that we wore and the flowers we would take pictures in front of. I miss the Dogwoods and I will especially miss celebrating Easter at Sequoyah. I hope wherever I celebrate on Sunday we sing, "Up from the grave He rose again."

Moving

I really hate moving. I don't think anyone really likes it... but I really hate it. I have a few reasons why I dislike it so much.
1- First of all, I am not good at it. Some people have the secret skills of packing. Lindsey is one of these people. Somehow she magically has everything organized and packed and my stuff is still scattered and messed up. My friend Angela has the skill to color code each room and box. That is amazing to me.
2- Another reason I hate moving is because I am a pack-rat. I never throw anything away so when it gets time to move, I first have to clean and organize and THEN pack. I struggle to throw things away so usually I just accumulate more. Senior year of college, Jamie and Lindsey threw my stuff away without me knowing! They were really being helpful, but they were sneaky!
3-Third reason for my hate toward moving is I have a lot of stuff! I am not sure why I seem to have more than normal people. I think it's a Frey thing.
4- Fourth reason I hate moving is because I don't have lots of help. My dad is amazing and is the best mover ever... but we don't have any back up. You know most people have brothers or boyfriends or something, but it is usually just me and G-Daddy. Dad and I sometimes struggle after hours of moving just the two of us. My arms are hurting just thinking about it.
5- Moving makes me sad. There is something kinda depressing about packing up your memories and starting over. Right now my walls are blank and sad looking.
6- And finally, I have moved every year since I moved into my freshmen dorm back in 2002. So this will be the 8th time I have moved in 8 years. I should receive some award for this. Actually, my mom and dad should receive some award for this...

Red lipstick

Lindsey, Lauren and I at the Big Bang! The big bang is one of my favorite bars in Nashville. And we all tried out some great red lipstick! :)
All the girls leaving Lowes hotel and ready for a fun night out!
Lindsey and I waiting to get into the Stage. Just like old times.... miss this!

This weekend was filled with food, friends, and fun! I am so filled up with joy from this weekend that it is hard to get back to work this week! I have not seen Lauren in over a year and have not seen Lindsey since the Alabama/UT weekend in Knoxville so this was a big reunion weekend! I spent most of my weekend laughing and just having the best time with these girls! I am so thankful for these girls in my life! And it was so much fun to celebrate Lauren's upcoming wedding!

Love/hate relationship

I have shared a few reasons why I love Nashville: professional sports, celebrities, live music, and TPAC! But my biggest dislike about this city is the weather. I didn't know that when I moved to Nashville, I was moving to Tornado Alley! I know you are thinking Kasnsas, Oklahoma, and other mid-western states should be tornado alley.... but do not be mistaken! Nashville is very prone to tornados too! Last night we had lots of scary storms. I am so thankful for the sunshine today!!

In other news..... this weekend is Lauren's Bachelorette Party in Nashville! I am so excited for us all to be together! Stay tuned for some fun pictures from this weekend!!
